In the context of the 27th GREEK ICT FORUM, held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Divani Caravel, Aggelos Tsakanikas presented empirical findings derived from LIEE’s research. His presentation focused on the digital readiness of Greek businesses, highlighting their level of adaptation to the demands of digital transformation, as well as their use of artificial intelligence.
The related discussion, moderated by Giannis Chalavazis, CEO of META TEAM, was dedicated to the challenges and prospects of the Greek digital economy.
The Greek Fintech Cluster proceeds with the organization of the Open Finance Day 2025, an open conference with the main theme ”New Technologies, Business Models and Good Practices in Financial Transactions. Fintech solutions to address
inequalities, accuracy, social innovation and growth”. Open Finance Day is an interactive workshop where participants and speakers can talk about the challenges in the future of Fintech, social innovation, sustainable development and the application of good practices to improve everyday life.
The conference is open to public and private sector executives, start-up companies, members of the academic community and anyone interested in learning about the developments and challenges in the Fintech sector.

A. Tsakanikas participated in the 2nd Market Access for non-Market Access Workshop, organized by the Hellenic Market Access Association on May 16th, giving a speech on “Use and exploitation of European Health Data”
The training workshop was addressed to executives of the pharmaceutical industry and governmental/regulatory bodies for medicines, members of the University community, representatives of patient associations and in general to those interested in having a comprehensive overview of the procedures for patients to access their treatment and the revised legislative framework which defines the circulation of existing and future treatments.
The purpose of the 2nd Workshop was to educate participants on:
– developments in the key pillars of access to medicine, such as pricing, reimbursement, prescribing & financing
– medical devices, MESYFAs and current models of access to treatments such as SHPs and IPTs
– access to electronic health data and innovation
– the challenges and skills of managers working in the field of access to health technologies
Participation of A. Tsakanikas in the Open workshop of InSocial on Artificial Intelligence
A. Tsakanikas participated with a short thematic intervention at InSocial’s Open Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI), held on Thursday, January 25 at Impact Hub Athens.
The Workshop discussed the opportunities and challenges that IT creates for research, economic development, entrepreneurship and innovation, the challenges that IT poses to society such as bias, job losses and data security and privacy . Key issues of the necessary National Strategy of Greece for IT, the objectives for the development of IT and especially issues for sectors of the economy and society were also highlighted.
