The Laboratory of Industrial & Energy Economics (LIEE) published its Annual Activity Report for 2025, reflecting the breadth and quality of the educational and research work carried out throughout the year.

The egg business accelerator, in collaboration with the Hellenic Volunteer Managers Center (KEMEL), announces the launch of the Mini Acceleration Program for Researchers, with the participation of academics, researchers, and students from various technological and scientific fields. The initiative is implemented with the kind support of the Ioannis S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.

Professor A. Tsakanikas and Dr. P. Dimas published an article titled "How to bridge the North-South digital divide" on the Greek economic and business news site Business Daily.

On Tuesday, 9 December 2025, in Brussels, Aggelos Tsakanikas, Director of the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE), presented the chapter he co-authored with Dr. Petros Dimas on the impact of previous HorizonEU programmes on SMEs in Southern Europe, with an emphasis on their digital footprint. The report also includes policy recommendations for the tools currently under development.

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the first workshop was successfully held, focusing on the concepts of innovation and innovative entrepreneurship and their role in the wider region of Western Macedonia

The Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) organized the Validation Workshop of the research project: “Leveraging Global Value Chains for Innovation and Competitiveness: The Case of Greece (GRinGVCs)” (Principal Investigator: Aimilia Protogerou, NTUA Assistant Professor). The project was carried out within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU (Implementation body: Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation). The workshop was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 16.00 to 19.00, in the "Koumoutsou" Hall of the School of Chemical Engineering at the NTUA Zografou Campus. Online participation was also available.

The "Researcher's Night," organized for the twelfth consecutive year by the National Technical University of Athens, was successfully completed on Friday, September 26, 2025, with broad public participation.For the first time, the event was organized and held at the facilities of National Technical University of Athens in Zografou, with the aim of attracting even more citizens and young people in order to highlight the innovative efforts of researchers from all institutions in Attica and to involve them in research projects and scientific and technological innovation.
