The INNOVATE EAST competition is an initiative of the Metropolis of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki and is aimed at research teams, students and graduates, PhDs and PhD candidates, Spin-off Businesses and anyone else interested in the Blue and Green Economy sector.

The aim is to connect public bodies, the academic community and businesses in the wider Mesogaia and Lavreotiki region, in order to mobilize young researchers and scientists towards the development of business ideas that will contribute to addressing modern challenges.

The competition process includes, among others:
a) the submission of innovative business ideas,
b) two phases of Evaluation by members of the Scientific Committee that includes reputable academics and business executives,
c) a mentoring process for the development of business proposals and
d) the selection and promotion of the winning proposals at the Competition Awards Ceremony to be held in December 2024.

The winners of the competition will be awarded prizes of €5,000 (1st Place), €3,000 (2nd Place) and €2,000 (3rd Place).

STAGE I: INNOVATE EAST Ideas Generation has already started, according to which submissions will remain active until May 31.
