Dr. Aimilia Protogerou, a researcher at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE) at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), participated as a speaker in the seminar “The Greek and European Crisis: Development, Employment, Social Security, Refugee Issue” with the topic “A Break with the Past? From Introverted to Innovative and Outward-Looking Entrepreneurship During the Crisis in Greece.”
This seminar was organized by the Athens University of Economics and Business within the framework of the Jean Monnet program on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Derigni Amphitheater.

Professor NTUA Yannis Caloghirou was invited as a speaker at the presentation of the book “The Wonderful Age of New Technology,” where he had the opportunity to offer his own commentary and perspective on the issues addressed in the book.
The presentation took place on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 19:00 at Orange Grove (5 Vasilissis Konstantinou Avenue, Athens). The presence of the laboratory members was notable, as were the comments and interventions.

The Hellenic Society for Economic History (EEOI) organized its fifth seminar for the 2015-2016 period on Monday, February 8, 2016, from 15:00 to 18:00 at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (Vasilissis Konstantinou 48, Athens, seminar room, ground floor).
The invited speaker was Professor Yannis Caloghirou from NTUA, who gave a lecture titled:
“Chris Freeman, SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit) and the ‘Studies of Innovation and Science and Technology Policy’: The emergence, establishment, and impact of a new scientific field.”
The discussion was moderated by Achilleas Mitsos from the University of the Aegean.
The conference was held at the Vienna University of Technology over two days, October 20–21, and aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices among the 37 member countries of the European Patent Office (EPO) on issues related to intellectual property.
Each country was represented by its national patent office, a Technology Transfer Office, and a university. Greece was represented by the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), the PRAXI Network, and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), which was represented by Mr. Angelos Tsakanikas.
Professor Yannis Caloghirou (NTUA), Assistant Professor Angelos Tsakanikas (NTUA), and Dr. Ioanna Kastelli participated in the 4th partners’ meeting of the European project “Open New Food”, organized by SEVT (Federation of Hellenic Food Industries), which aims to train food industry executives on topics related to open innovation.
