NTUA Professor Yiannis Kalogirou is an invited speaker at the Evening Seminar PRO.PAIDEI.A

Professor Yannis Caloghirou of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), as an invited speaker, delivered a presentation at the PR.PAIDEIA Evening Seminar, which was held in the Bank of Greece’s Event Hall. The seminar was titled: “Universities, Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Development”, and his presentation was titled: “We innovate by researching and we do business by innovating: The development challenge of Greek polytechnic schools and universities.”

Specifically, the conference began on Tuesday, May 23, at 14:00. From 14:00 to 14:50, the first thematic session was held:
University – Research: Issues of Institutional Problems and Academic Quality,
moderated by Marny Papamatthaiou, with speakers Socrates Katsikas, Theodoros Fortsakis, and Stavros Thomadakis.

From 14:50 to 16:30, the second thematic session followed:
University – Research: Innovation – Entrepreneurship – Development,
with contributions from Panos Tsakloglou, Yannis Caloghirou, Alexander Roggenkamp, Nikos Drandakis, Aristos Doxiadis, Kostis Hatzidakis, and Giannis Maniatis, moderated by Petros Kavasalis.

At 16:40, the third session began:
The Positions of the Political Parties,
with former Prime Minister Kostas Simitis. The discussion was moderated by Argyris Papastathis, and speakers included Niki Kerameus, Angelos Tolkas, Giorgos Mavrotas, Theodora Megalooikonomou, Anna Diamantopoulou, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Education.

Finally, from 18:30 to 19:50, a roundtable discussion was held on the fourth thematic session:
Connecting Universities, Research Centers & Businesses in Greece: Present and Future,
moderated by Paschos Mandravelis, with speakers Ioannis Stournaras, Haris Kyriazis, Nikos Paizis, Achilleas Gravanis, Evangelos Kalousis, Georgios Doukidis, and Kostas Kaltsas.
