Presentations of course work “Business Organization and Management” in the academic year 2014-2015

On Monday, January 19, 2015, the presentations of the papers of the course “Organization and Management of Businesses” of the 3rd semester of the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA were held. The subject of each paper was the analysis of a specific large or medium-sized business with emphasis on issues such as its strategy, its management and organization, its main and secondary functions, its human resource mix, its financial situation and development as well as its future prospects.

A total of 20 papers were presented by two-member student groups, which concerned the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, food and beverages, cement industry, refineries, minerals/metals, and telecommunications.

LIEE distinction at the 9th Panhellenic Scientific Conference of Chemical Engineering

The 1st prize for the poster of the 9th Panhellenic Scientific Conference on Chemical Engineering was awarded to the writing team of EVEO, Denis Nachmias, Dimitra Kopidou and Danae Diakoulaki, for the poster entitled “Determinants of the Evolution of Environmental and Social Impacts in European Industry”. The honorary event for the authors of the papers took place in the Koumoutsos Hall of the School of Chemical Engineering on July 24, 2013.

NTUA Professor Yiannis Kalogirou is a member of the Scientific Council for the 2nd Applied Research & Innovation Competition

NTUA Professor Yiannis Kalogirou is a member of the 16-member Scientific Council that has been appointed under the responsibility of SEV and with the consent of Eurobank EFG.

The responsibilities of the Scientific Council are the coordination of the project and the evaluation process of the submitted candidacies.

SEV and Eurobank EFG are organizing for the second consecutive year the applied research and innovation competition “Greece Innovates!” which ends on September 30, 2012.

The goal is to encourage research and production of innovation as a basic philosophy for upgrading the competitiveness of our country.

The detailed objectives of the Competition are:

the promotion of applied research products as well as products or services that innovate and strengthen the extroversion of the Greek economy
the connection of these products with production and entrepreneurship.
the awarding of nominations from researchers, research groups, businesses and institutions operating in Greece.
