Participation of LIEE in the DRUID 2016 20th Anniversary Conference

The Energy and Industrial Economics Laboratory (LIEE) of NTUA participated in the DRUID 2016 20th Anniversary Conference held at CBS in Copenhagen from 13 to 15 June 2016.

DRUID (Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics) was established in 1995 by CBS, AAU and SDU, with the aim of promoting the visibility of innovation and entrepreneurship research in Denmark. Today, the annual DRUID conference is one of the largest European management conferences, rivaling only the Academy of Management in the US, attracting leading innovation and entrepreneurship researchers from around the world. The 2016 conference was attended by 350 researchers from 35 countries with main research interests in management, economics and sociology, with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Within this framework, topics such as open innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity, research and development, scientific knowledge production, global innovation networks, as well as institutional, social and eco-innovation were presented.

Specifically, from the LIEE/NTUA, the following participated: Giannis Kalogirou, NTUA Professor, Angelos Tsakanikas, NTUA Assistant Professor, and Emilia Protogerou, PhD in Engineering and researcher at the LIEE/NTUA as commentators of the papers published and presented at the DRUID 16th conference, but they also presented two papers with the following titles: “Dynamic capabilities in young entrepreneurial ventures: Evidence from Europe” (paper) and “Industry-University R&D Collaboration and Innovative Performance of Greek Manufacturing Firms in Times of Crisis: Do Interactions of Knowledge Flows and Knowledge Stocks Matter?“ (paper), respectively.
