Participation of the LIEE-NTUA in the 36th annual EAEPE Conference, Bilbao, 4-6 September 2024

The LIEE-NTUA participated in the 36th International Conference of the European Association of Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) which was held on 4-6 September 2024 in Bilbao, Spain, and had as its theme “Economics in a changing world. New perspectives to economic analysis and economic policy”.

On the part of the EAEPE-NTUA, the Conference was attended by the NTUA Assistant Professor Emilia Protogerou, the Postdoctoral Researchers Panagiotis Panagiotopoulos and Petros Dimas, the Doctoral Candidate Dimitrios Stamopoulos, and the EAEPE-NTUA research associate and Assistant Professor of the University of Thessaly, Ioanna Kastelli, who is also the President of the EAEPE and gave an introductory speech at the Conference.

In more detail, A. Protogerou and I. Kastelli, coordinators of the research areas E2 “Entrepreneurship and Business Theory” and E1 “Industrial Development and Policy” respectively, organized a series of sessions within the framework of their respective areas. In more detail, A. Protogerou organized 2 sessions, in which a total of 7 papers were presented, and I. Kastelli organized with Lukasz Mamica 3 sessions, in which a total of 12 papers were presented. In addition, I. Kastelli organized with Lukasz Mamica 2 special sessions on the topic of Green Industrial Transformation, in which a total of 8 papers were presented.

It is noted that the 37th EAEPE Conference will be organized by the EVEO-NTUA in Athens (at the premises of the NCSR “Demokritos”) during the period 24-26 September 2025. In this context, at the closing of this year’s Conference, Emilia Protogerou made an informative presentation to the Conference participants.

Participation in the Workshop “Quality Criteria & Personalized Services” of the Entrepreneurship Support Mechanism

The Ph.D. candidate D. Stamopoulos participated in the workshop “Quality Criteria & Personalized Services” organized by the Ministry of Youth and Education on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the VIOS Workplace auditorium.

 

In the first section of the workshop, the sets of quality criteria and the Self-Assessment Tool for businesses created by the Entrepreneurship Support Mechanism were presented. A case study of a company that has used the tool was extensively analyzed, along with recommended actions to improve its performance.

The theme of the second section of the workshop concerned the analysis of advisory services offered by the Mechanism to the beneficiary businesses of the action. Specifically, services such as business plan development, marketing plan, and market research implementation were presented.

The event was implemented within the framework of the Operational Program “Attica 2014-2020” Action: “Support for the Development of New Enterprises in RIS sectors by utilizing closed stores in the center of Athens (commercial triangle)”, Code ΟΠΣ 5158568, and is funded by the European Union (European Social Fund (ESF)) and national resources through the Public Investment Fund (ΠΔΕ).

Participation of LIEE in the conference LEADING AND MANAGING IN THE DIGITAL ERA: Shaping the Future of Work and Business Education // June 23, 2023

LIEE participated with two presentations at this year’s conference LEADING AND MANAGING IN THE DIGITAL ERA: Shaping the Future of Work and Business Education, which took place from June 19 to 23 in Athens and Syros.

1st presentation:“The Globalinto survey: A large-scale survey regarding investments in intangible assets and the digital transformation of firms from seven European economies” 

2nd presentation: “A new era for the Greek ecosystem of Innovation and Knowledge-Intensive Innovative Entrepreneurship”

Seminar of Prof. Keynor Ruiz Mejías in the context of his secondment at LIEE-NTUA within the H2020 CatChain project, 4/4/2023

Keynor Ruiz Mejías, Professor and Associate Researcher at the International Centre of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development (CINPE) of the National University of Costa Rica, carried out a full-time secondment from 13/2/2023 until 13/4/2023 at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the context of the Horizon 2020 CatChain project (GA n. 778398).

In the context of his secondment, Prof. Ruiz Mejías made a seminar titled “Costa Rica: Export diversification and some GVC lessons from a small country” on April 4, 2023. The presentation of Prof. Ruiz Mejías was followed by a discussion in which the members of LIEE-NTUA took part.
