The aim of the course is for students to become familiar with the basic principles of statistics and their applications in data analysis.

At the same time as the basic theory, they will delve into techniques of statistical analysis and data processing and get in touch with computational techniques and tools on computers so that they can become familiar with their use on real primary and secondary data.

They will also be trained in how to present the results so as to maximise the message and communicate the relevant conclusions accurately and reliably.
