Ermoupolis Seminar on the Information Society 2017

The INFOSTRAG Team of the Industrial and Energy Economics Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens held the 12th Seminar on the Information Society & the Knowledge Economy within the framework of the annual seminars organized by the Institute for Historical Research of the National Research Foundation (IHR/NHRF) in Ermoupolis, Syros.

The seminar will be held from the morning of Friday, July 7 to the morning of Sunday, July 9, in the event hall of the Cyclades Chamber.

The Seminar was entitled “Smart Growth, Employment and Prosperity in the Digital Age” and included the following thematic sections:

  1. Friday 7 July, 10:00 – 13:30: “Smart City” and Open Government: A Framework for Local Development?
  2. Friday 7 July, 18:00 – 21:30: Europe in Start-up mode (conducted in English).
  3. Saturday 8 July, 10:00 – 13:30: Smart Specialization: The theoretical origins and evolution of the concept, and its application in European and Greek regions
  4. Saturday 8 July, 18:00 – 21:30: The second Machine Age: Developments and Implications
  5. Sunday 9 July, Part A (10:00 – 12:00): Proposals for the introduction of Innovation and Open Source in Education, Part B (12:00 – 13:00): Seminar Conclusions – General Discussion
