Ermoupolis Seminar 2021: The role of Cities in addressing contemporary social and environmental challenges

The INFOSTRAG Team of the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce organized the 16th Annual Seminar on the Information Society & Knowledge Economy, held from July 16 to 18, 2021.The Seminar was co-organized in collaboration with KAS Greece – Cyprus, the Crowdpolicy company, the Open Technologies Organization – EELLAK/ELLAK, the Invent ICTincubator program, and the consulting firm Break Even Consulting.The Seminar on the Information Society & Knowledge Economy has been held for three days every July since 2006, as part of the tradition of the Annual Ermoupolis Seminars, organized by the Institute of Historical Researchof the National Hellenic Research Foundation (EIE) since 1984.

As in the previous year, the Seminar was conducted in a hybrid format: part of the presentations took place in person at the Events Hall of the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce, while others were held online. Interactive participation was possible via the Webex platform, and the Seminar was also streamed live via the LIEE/NTUA YouTube channel.
In-person attendance was allowed at the Chamber’s Conference Room by arrangement with the organizers, due to limited seating capacity in accordance with COVID-19 regulations.
