Invited Speaker, Professor Yiannis Kalogirou at the SEGM Conference 2017
Professor Yannis Kalogirou, Professor of NTUA, as a guest speaker, presented a speech at the SEGM 2017 Conference “The Consulting – Consulting Industry in a Changing World”, held at the Electra Palace Hotel Thessaloniki, 29-30 September 2017, entitled “Research – Innovation: The role of the consulting sector in the knowledge production and utilization chain”.
During the conference, the issues that concern Greek consulting companies, the prospects of the domestic market, the challenges and opportunities for extroverted activity, the modern requirements and trends in international markets, as well as synergies with other sectors of the economy were analyzed and discussed. Distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad participated in the Conference with presentations and lectures.
More specifically, on Friday, the first thematic section was analysed from 11:00 to 14:00: Internal Market – Situation and prospects with speakers, in the first part, Nikos Vetta, Akis Skertsos, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Georgios Tziallas and moderators Konstantinos Kalergis, Panagios Toniolos and, in the second part, Nikolaos Antonoglou, Andreas Loukatos, Zoe Papasiopis, Georgios Katapodis, Ioannis Kitsos, Ioannis Kalogeros and moderated by Ioanna Xanthopoulou.
From 15:00 to 18:30 the second section was analysed: International Environment – Extroversion with speakers, in the first part, Theodoros Axilithiotis, Ines Ferguson, Giorgos Kremlis, Dimitrios Halepidis and moderator Spyros Papagrigoriou and, in the second part, Ilias Xanthakos, Ioannis Fotinos, Panagiotis Antonaropoulos and moderator Despina Kalliidromitou. In the evening, the official dinner of the conference followed.
On Saturday, from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 12:30 to 14:00 the next two thematic sessions were discussed: Major Infrastructure Projects and Modern Requirements & Tools. The speakers of the first one were Yannis Mylopoulos, Sergios Lambropoulos, Vassilios Chalkias, Ioannis Karnessis, George Syrianos and the moderator was Panagiotis Toniolos and the speakers of the second one were George Koutinas, Petros Kavassalis, Panos Hadjipanos, Kostis Kangelidis, Eva Agapaki and the moderator was Theodoros Tsialas.
The conference ended with an open discussion in relation to all the above topics where the following conclusion was drawn, among others: development of the country with solid foundations, development of the country with prospects cannot exist with the consulting sector in recession.
