At this year’s Future of Healthcare in Greece conference, a presentation and discussion of the study will take place:

“Digital Health and Real World Data in Greece: The Transformation in the Healthcare Ecosystem and the Impact on the Economy”

The purpose of the study is to describe the environment related to digital health and real world data (RWD-RWE) in Greece and to try to estimate the economic impact of their exploitation for the healthcare system as well as the national economy.

The Study was supported by MSD Greece and was prepared by IOBE and the Industrial and Energy Economics Laboratory of NTUA, under the scientific responsibility and coordination of A. Tsakanikas, Director of LIEE. The project team consisted of A. Athanasiadis (Research Director, Department of Health Economics, IOBE), P. Dimas and D. Stamopoulos (Associate PhDs and Researchers of the LIEE-NTUA).

The 17th Ermoupolis Seminar on the Information Society & the Economy of Knowledge

The INFOSTRAG team of the Laboratory Industrial and Energy Economics  of NTUA and the Cyclades Chamber are organizing the 17th annual Hermoupolis Seminar on the Information Society & the Knowledge Economy during 8-10 July 2022. The Seminar is organized in collaboration with the KAS Foundation Greece – Cyprus, the Open Technologies Organization – EEL/LAK and Break-Even Consulting.

The Seminar on the Information Society & Knowledge Economy has been held for three days every July since 2006 within the framework of the Ermoupolis Annual Seminars organized by the Historical Research Institute of the National Research Foundation (IIE/EIE) since 1984.

The thematics of this year’s seminar are the following:

  • Research and innovation policies to enhance competitiveness and address contemporary social challenges
  • Innovative Knowledge-intensive Entrepreneurship
  • Digital policy and digital transformation of the economy and society
  • The Development Perspective of Syros

The Seminar will take place in the Events Hall of the Cyclades Chamber but some of the presentations will be done remotely. There will be the possibility of interactive participation through the Webex platform and at the same time the Seminar will be broadcast live through the LIEE-NTUA YouTube channel.

“EPOG Master Course Conference 2022”, July 3-6, Ermoupoli, Syros

The French Polytechnic of Compiègne in collaboration with the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics of the National Technical University of Athens, the Chamber of Cyclades, the University of the Aegean and the support of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupoli, organize in Syros from 4 to 6 July 2022 the “EPOG Master Course Conference 2022”. This is the annual Conference of the distinguished European postgraduate program EPOG+ (Economic POlicies for the Global transition), which is coordinated by the French Polytechnic of Compiègne with the participation of 35 university institutions from Europe and the rest of the world.

EPOG+ falls under the category of Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees supported by the European Commission and is specialized in economics and in particular in Economic Policies for the global transition with three major directions: a) Knowledge, Innovation and Digital Transition, b) Macroeconomics, Financial and Socio-economic Transition, c} Development, sustainable development and Ecological Transition. NTUA participates through the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics in the academic network of universities that are members of EPOG+.

The Conference will address issues related to the objectives of the program and global challenges related to growing economic and other inequalities, the major ecological crisis, rapid technological developments and the forced reorientation of economic growth and development towards sustainability and mitigation of inequalities. In addition, in conditions of uncertainty, it is imperative to review the basis of the economic policies in place that require the organic integration of the economic, social and environmental/ecological dimension and the formation of the corresponding capacities and skills for the planning and management of the necessary public policies.

The Conference will host approximately 150 delegates (academics, students and postgraduates, etc.) from Europe and the rest of the world and will conclude with a speech by the former Minister of Economics, Professor Nikos Christodoulakis as part of the session “Rethinking the global economy in turbulent times”.
