  08/06/2022

LIEE participated in the two-day meeting of the European project Circural Foodpack that took place at the Suez offices in Paris on 8 and 9 June.

The project has targeted the circular use of plastic food packaging as well as household care packaging. The project partners are exploring recently developed detector and sensor-based sorting systems that allow reliable sorting with new tracers and detection mechanisms. The recycling strategies and the secondary (raw) materials produced are continuously evaluated in relation to food safety and the environment, social acceptance, quality, processability, economic viability and legal compliance.

In this context, LIEE has undertaken the development of business models to exploit innovations in the field of packaging recycling throughout the relevant value chain.
