LIEE participated with two presentations at this year’s conference LEADING AND MANAGING IN THE DIGITAL ERA: Shaping the Future of Work and Business Education, which took place from June 19 to 23 in Athens and Syros.

1st presentation:“The Globalinto survey: A large-scale survey regarding investments in intangible assets and the digital transformation of firms from seven European economies” 

2nd presentation: “A new era for the Greek ecosystem of Innovation and Knowledge-Intensive Innovative Entrepreneurship”

The 18th Ermoupolis Seminar on the Information Society & the Knowledge Economy, 14-16 July 2023

The INFOSTRAG Team of the Industrial and Energy Economics Laboratory (LIEE) of NTUA and the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce organized the 18th annual Ermoupolis Seminar on the Information Society & the Knowledge Economy during the period 14-16 July 2023. The Seminar was organized in collaboration with the KAS Greece – Cyprus Foundation, the NTUA Technology Transfer Office, the Open Technologies Organization – EELLAK/ELLAK and the company Break Even Consulting. The Seminar on the Information Society & the Knowledge Economy has been held for three days every July since 2006 within the framework of the Annual Seminars of Ermoupolis organized by the Institute of Historical Research of the National Research Foundation (EIE) since 1984. The Seminar was held in the Events Hall of the Cyclades Chamber and also some of the presentations were made remotely via the Webex platform. The Seminar was also broadcast live via the NTUA/LIEE YouTube channel. See here the Seminar Program. See here the Seminar Presentations. The thematic sections of this year’s Seminar are as follows:
  1. Artificial Intelligence: Quo Vadis? Technological, Economic, Social, Institutional and Political Impacts (Friday 14/7, 10:00 – 13:30)
  2. The importance of RES and sustainable development for the island area and maritime transport (Friday 14/7, 18:00 – 21:30)
  3. Actions to promote knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education and research centers (Saturday 15/7, 10:00 – 13:30)
  4. Public policies for research, innovation, entrepreneurship and competitiveness (Saturday 15/7, 18:00 – 21:00)
  5. Speech by Professor Baskaran Angathevar (University of Malaya) & Conclusions of the Seminar – General Discussion (Sunday 16/7, 10:30 – 12:30)
       

Coca-Cola 3E – Summership Program 2023 – Participation of Students in their 3rd and 4th year

Applications for the Summership program have begun!

The program is aimed at students in their 3rd and 4th year of studies and lasts 2 weeks from May 22 to June 2, with daily attendance between 10:00-12:00. For the first year, the program will have a hybrid nature as visits and activities will take place on both days at the Coca Cola – 3E facilities and the remaining meetings will be held online. More specifically, throughout the program, the following will be held:

  • Interactive career workshops & business case studies
  • Targeted training by experienced professionals from the team
  • Round tables for career stories by selected executives Fun Activities

Finally, as part of the Summership, participants will have the opportunity to discover internship positions in the company.

The program is related, but not inextricably linked to the internship, therefore applications for internships can be accepted before the start of the program and at the same time students have the opportunity to take part in the Summership.
As the participation places are limited, the final participants will be selected through an evaluation process as in the case of the internship, through an on-demand interview by following the link below.

Seminar of Prof. Keynor Ruiz Mejías in the context of his secondment at LIEE-NTUA within the H2020 CatChain project, 4/4/2023

Keynor Ruiz Mejías, Professor and Associate Researcher at the International Centre of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development (CINPE) of the National University of Costa Rica, carried out a full-time secondment from 13/2/2023 until 13/4/2023 at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the context of the Horizon 2020 CatChain project (GA n. 778398).

In the context of his secondment, Prof. Ruiz Mejías made a seminar titled “Costa Rica: Export diversification and some GVC lessons from a small country” on April 4, 2023. The presentation of Prof. Ruiz Mejías was followed by a discussion in which the members of LIEE-NTUA took part.
