The seminar on scientific excellence programs (European Research Council) & researcher mobility (Marie Sklodowska Curie) in the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation Program was successfully completed.
The event took place on Friday, October 7, 2016 (10:00-12:150), in Athens, at the National Technical University of Athens, Zografou Campus, in the Multimedia Amphitheatre on the ground floor of the Central Library building.
General Information
The National Documentation Centre (EKT), National Contact Point for the EU Framework Programme “Horizon 2020” (Horizon 2020) and member of the Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, and the Industrial and Energy Economics Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens organized the seminar on the scientific excellence (European Research Council) & researcher mobility (Marie Skłodowska Curie) programmes of the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation programme.
The seminar presented the funding opportunities and mobility programs for individual researchers of the EU’s “Horizon 2020” Research & Innovation program.
The Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions, with a budget of approximately 6 billion euros (2014-2020), support the mobility of researchers within and outside Europe, the transfer of know-how and the attraction or repatriation of the best researchers from other countries to Europe. The research can be conducted in any field of science or technology. You can find statistical data on Greek participation in the first Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions in a recent EKT study (http://metrics.ekt.gr/el/node/326).
The ERC program, with a budget of approximately 13 billion euros (2014-2020), supports “cutting-edge research” exclusively on the basis of scientific excellence. Research can be conducted in any field of science or technology. Interdisciplinarity is encouraged and research is funded which, although not directly related to the market, is at the “front line” of creating new knowledge that is essential for future applications. You can find statistics on Greek participation in the first ERC calls in a recent EKT study (http://metrics.ekt.gr/el/node/325).
