The Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research organized a public event to present the report “Entrepreneurship 2015-16: A Critical Turning Point for the Development Dynamics of the Business System” on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 18:00 to 20:30 at the National Research Foundation, ‘Leonidas Zervas’ Amphitheater (48 Vasilissis Konstantinou Ave, 116 35 Athens).
The keynote speaker will be Associate Professor Angelos Tsakanikas, who will provide a detailed presentation of the Entrepreneurship Report.

Professor NTUA Yannis Caloghirou was invited as a key-note speaker from the AEGEAN University of Greece to talk to young students about Entrepreneurship in the Creative Industry. Professor Caloghirou has great expirience in the field of entrepreneuship and creative industries as he is considered as an expert in the specific field and has conducted, in coolaboration with the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE/NTUA), of which he is director, many research projects at European Scale (the projects were founded by the European Union).

Assistant Professor Aggelos Tsakanikas was invited as a key-note speaker from the AEGEAN University of Greece to talk to young students about Business plans and Finance. The presentation had two main topics with the title “Drafting a Business Plan: Key Questions and Issues” and “Financing”. The main purpose of the presentation was to give to the students to understand the importance of a business plan and how to make on, when needed and also, he tried to explain through examples, how to calculate basic numbers in finance and the real meaning behind the numbers.

The Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics of the National Technical University of Athens (EBEO NTUA) participated in the 2016 Eu-SPRI Conference, which was held at CIRCLE, Lund University, from June 7 to 10, 2016.
The Eu-SPRI conference aimed to create a community of researchers active in the field of research and innovation and to foster interaction and exchange of views both among researchers themselves and between researchers and policymakers.
Specifically, participants included Yannis Caloghirou, Professor at NTUA, and Aimilia Protogerou, PhD engineer and researcher at EBEO NTUA, who presented on “Why enhancing resources and capabilities of newly-established firms can lead to superior innovative performance? Implications for innovation and entrepreneurship policy.”

The event with Mariana Mazzucato at the National Research Foundation has been successfully completed
The event and discussion with Mariana Mazzucato, centered on her book The Entrepreneurial State, was successfully completed on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the National Research Foundation.
The book has been successfully translated into Greek by Professor Yannis Caloghirou of NTUA, who was responsible for the introduction and editing, and by Petros Papazachariou, who did the translation.
The event was open to the public and co-organized by the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics, the National Documentation Centre, and Kritiki Publications.
The discussion was opened by Kostas Fotakis, Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation, followed by key contributions from the speakers:

The central speaker, Mariana Mazzucato, continued the discussion with an impressive and captivating lecture, followed by questions and remarks regarding the author’s points.
Mariana Mazzucato is a Professor of the Economics of Innovation, holding the RM Philips Chair at the University of Sussex and SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit), Europe’s first interdisciplinary research center focusing on Research, Technology, and Innovation policies, founded 50 years ago by innovation studies pioneer Professor Chris Freeman.
