The start of this meeting was very positive, as a dialogue was opened between the Local Government executives and the companies of the ΣΕΚΕΕ, which develop innovative applications for the international market. The change of the existing logic of the custom development of special-purpose applications, which is time-consuming and inefficient, was discussed, with the model of using existing software where municipalities can use applications, share them, evaluate them. Also, the need to promote open data in practice was discussed so that the information created by the bodies can be reused and the services provided can be developed even further. At the same time, many interesting applications for systems for optimizing the management of Municipal services were presented, from waste collection to the management of social benefits (environment, cemeteries, etc.). Also, the new electronic payment services that allow citizens to pay their obligations to Municipalities but at the same time provide Municipalities with the ability to reward citizens’ consistency.
