A. Tsakanikas participated in the 2nd Market Access for non-Market Access Workshop, organized by the Hellenic Market Access Association on May 16th, giving a speech on “Use and exploitation of European Health Data”
The training workshop was addressed to executives of the pharmaceutical industry and governmental/regulatory bodies for medicines, members of the University community, representatives of patient associations and in general to those interested in having a comprehensive overview of the procedures for patients to access their treatment and the revised legislative framework which defines the circulation of existing and future treatments.
The purpose of the 2nd Workshop was to educate participants on:
– developments in the key pillars of access to medicine, such as pricing, reimbursement, prescribing & financing
– medical devices, MESYFAs and current models of access to treatments such as SHPs and IPTs
– access to electronic health data and innovation
– the challenges and skills of managers working in the field of access to health technologies
The Ph.D. candidate D. Stamopoulos participated in the workshop “Quality Criteria & Personalized Services” organized by the Ministry of Youth and Education on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the VIOS Workplace auditorium.

In the first section of the workshop, the sets of quality criteria and the Self-Assessment Tool for businesses created by the Entrepreneurship Support Mechanism were presented. A case study of a company that has used the tool was extensively analyzed, along with recommended actions to improve its performance.
The theme of the second section of the workshop concerned the analysis of advisory services offered by the Mechanism to the beneficiary businesses of the action. Specifically, services such as business plan development, marketing plan, and market research implementation were presented.

The event was implemented within the framework of the Operational Program “Attica 2014-2020” Action: “Support for the Development of New Enterprises in RIS sectors by utilizing closed stores in the center of Athens (commercial triangle)”, Code ΟΠΣ 5158568, and is funded by the European Union (European Social Fund (ESF)) and national resources through the Public Investment Fund (ΠΔΕ).
The Contracting Authority is the Athens Development and Tourism Promotion Company (EATA), and the Contractor of the project is ICAP Advisory.

Associate Professor of NTUA Aggelos Tsakanikas and postdoctoral researcher of the LIEE-NTUA Petros Dimas sign the 2nd policy brief of the European Economy of theObservatory of the Greek and European Economy of theHellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) entitled: “Taking advantage of the new EU industrial policy in the reshaping of Greece’s production model”.
The purpose of the policy brief is to expand and evaluate recent developments in industrial policy in the European Union, with the aim of highlighting the way in which they can function beneficially in the country’s productive transformation. In this context, some key points of the rather fragmented landscape of policies and strategies related to Greek industry are also presented and analyzed, and some future directions are mapped out that are deemed necessary so that the country can exploit the momentum of European industrial policy to its advantage.

The INNOVATE EAST competition is an initiative of the Metropolis of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki and is aimed at research teams, students and graduates, PhDs and PhD candidates, Spin-off Businesses and anyone else interested in the Blue and Green Economy sector.
The aim is to connect public bodies, the academic community and businesses in the wider Mesogaia and Lavreotiki region, in order to mobilize young researchers and scientists towards the development of business ideas that will contribute to addressing modern challenges.
The competition process includes, among others:
a) the submission of innovative business ideas,
b) two phases of Evaluation by members of the Scientific Committee that includes reputable academics and business executives,
c) a mentoring process for the development of business proposals and
d) the selection and promotion of the winning proposals at the Competition Awards Ceremony to be held in December 2024.
The winners of the competition will be awarded prizes of €5,000 (1st Place), €3,000 (2nd Place) and €2,000 (3rd Place).
STAGE I: INNOVATE EAST Ideas Generation has already started, according to which submissions will remain active until May 31.

Participation of A. Tsakanikas in the Open workshop of InSocial on Artificial Intelligence
A. Tsakanikas participated with a short thematic intervention at InSocial’s Open Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI), held on Thursday, January 25 at Impact Hub Athens.
The Workshop discussed the opportunities and challenges that IT creates for research, economic development, entrepreneurship and innovation, the challenges that IT poses to society such as bias, job losses and data security and privacy . Key issues of the necessary National Strategy of Greece for IT, the objectives for the development of IT and especially issues for sectors of the economy and society were also highlighted.
